Dear Members,
2016 FUNDRAISING APPEAL AND SHOPPING GUIDE
Our yearly fundraising appeal with the 2016 Shopping Guide is in the mail. We send out a request for donations to support our work only once a year—so please remember the Weston A. Price Foundation in your end-of-year giving.
The Shopping Guide continues to grow, with even more pages than last year! We are thrilled that the number of recommended products increases every year—this means that our food dollars are supporting hundreds of farmers, small businesses and artisan producers.
We still have some copies of the 2015 Shopping Guide left and would like to use them to introduce new people to our work. If you would like to share the 2015 Shopping Guide with others, we will send 5-10 copies to you at no charge. Request these at info@westonaprice.org.
CONFERENCE
The Anaheim conference was a great success. We had over 1100 attendees and a record number of exhibitors. Our speakers were stellar and the food was our best yet!
As part of the conference we presented a Raw Milk Symposium, which can be viewed for free at: http://www.fleetwoodonsite.com/wise/rawmilk
You can purchase DVDs and MP3s of this and past year’s sessions. Recordings of past conferences are available now and this year’s conference will be available soon at: http://www.fleetwoodonsite.com/index.php?cPath=40.
Mark your calendar for next year’s conference November 11-14, 2016 at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel in Montgomery, Alabama. In the last few years there has been a shift in the sustainable and local food movement in this part of the country and we hope to provide continued encouragement at the conference.

DR. NICHOLAS GONZALEZ INTERVIEWS
NOW AVAILABLE IN THREE DVD SET
In June we lost Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez, a nationally-known nutritional expert and a WAPF supporter for many years. The week before his death our friends at the Healing Quest television series interviewed him on the subject of how best to nourish our brains.
The results of that interview are now airing on PBS stations across the country as part of Healing Quest’s 13th season. To help keep Nick’s work accessible to the widest possible audience the Healing Quest producers have created a 40-minute DVD compilation of Nick’s brain food recommendations.
They are also releasing the full interview they did with him in June and an earlier interview they did with him in 2011 when we first introduced Nick to the Healing Quest producers.
Each of those interviews covers a wide range of nutrition and health topics. Each is about an hour and each has multiple chapter headings to allow viewers to watch the topics in whatever order they choose.
Lightbridge Media, the producer of Healing Quest, is offering the three DVD set at $25.00 plus shipping and handling, and a portion of the proceeds is being donated to WAPF.
Information on the three DVDs including a preview of the Brain Food Healing Quest segments is available by clicking on the following link: https://youtu.be/SuCIrlvGvW4. The preview also has a direct link for DVD purchase.
RAW MILK IN THE NEWS
Michael Schmidt in Canada
There are two cases surrounding Michael Schmidt in Canada. Both of these cases vividly show an overzealous Canadian government and the consequences of that.
The sheep case has the potential to send Michael to prison for up to ten years. He needs legal defense to keep him out of prison. Please donate to his legal defense fund at: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/help-defend-farmers-charged-in-rare-sheep-case#/story
This short video gives the background on the second case–the raw milk case. http://www.collective-evolution.com/2015/10/28/raw-milk-farmer-charged-for-removing-hidden-government-cameras-spying-on-his-property/
The most recent update: 5 peaceful farm owners, including Michael, were charged with obstruction of justice for refusing to allow the Canadian Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) to confiscate farm product and equipment. Since it is illegal to distribute raw milk in Canada, Michael has been in the sights of the Canadian government for over twenty-one years. We are working to keep him out of prison and on the farm where he can produce healing foods for people.
The bigger story here is that farmers in Canada and the U.S. are routinely criminalized for producing healing foods and peacefully feeding their communities. And, that governments create these disturbances out of nothing.

MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
THANK YOU FOR YOUR MEMBERSHIP & FOR ENCOURAGING OTHERS TO JOIN!
For the last two months of 2015 we are conducting our annual membership drive. In an effort to encourage membership and introduce many of our conference vendors to them, we offer over one hundred dollars worth of coupons from various conference vendors, which can be used during the rest of the year by anyone who joins during the membership drive.
Please share information about the membership drive on Facebook and to your lists. Please consider posting your own meme about how membership has benefited you.
REACHING NEW AUDIENCES
We encourage members to give talks and share our materials with new audiences. If you have any suggestions on how me might reach new people by exhibiting, advertising or other options, please contact us info@westonaprice.org. If you are willing to volunteer to work at an exhibit booth or arrange an ad or article in a publication, we can often fund the effort and offer the materials needed.
