Senate Bill 962 and House Bill 825 (SB 962 and HB 825), bills that were major threats to the future of herdshares in Virginia are both dead.
Yesterday the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Conservation and Natural Resources kill SB 962 by an 8 to 7 vote. Today Barry Knight, the sponsor of HB 825 and the chair of a subcommittee of the House Committee on Agriculture, Chesapeake, and Natural Resources, withdrew HB 825; the bill was scheduled to be heard in the subcommittee meeting on Monday, February 5.
Congratulations to those who worked to defeat the bills and uphold private property rights and the right to private contract. May Virginia hershares live long and prosper.
Keep the raw milk flowing!
