Re: Confirmation of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. for Health and Human Services Secretary
The undersigned American farmers and ranchers offer our earnest support and endorsement of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., to be confirmed as the next US Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. The effort to improve Americans’ health and bolster domestic agricultural food production go hand in hand, delivering on President Trump’s promises to Make America Healthy Again and to reduce grocery store food prices.
To effectively implement the President’s agenda requires a coordination of the pivotal United States Department of Agriculture and the Department of Health and Human Services. These agencies together oversee the drafting of the USDA food pyramid used to inform US consumers about healthy diets. Revising and improving USDA’s dietary guidelines to favor high-quality proteins and fats such as dairy, eggs, and meats will encourage purchasing decisions that will improve health outcomes while motivating American farmers to amplify the production of those vital commodities.
Robert Kennedy is a staunch but balanced environmental activist who led the opposition to offshore windfarms two decades ago, when Time magazine dubbed him a “Hero for the Planet.” Mr. Kennedy raised a refreshing alarm during his campaign about the unhealthy consequences of hydrogenated fats, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, and flavorings in our children’s foods and is now standing up to lead the charge to improve all Americans’ diets. As HHS, he will also improve FDA labeling to equip consumers to make wiser buying decisions.
In recent years, more and more of America’s food supplies have become dependent on imported processed foods, including from China. This surrenders regulatory oversight of food processing to foreign nations, undermines domestic production and processing, and threatens national security in times of crisis or high inflation.
Egg and meat prices have soared and are threatened by further inflation. These are crucial foods for health and satisfy consumer demand while bolstering production and profitability in our rural farming and ranching communities. This shift is economically imperative: healthier diets will reduce healthcare costs while spurring economic production to meet consumer demand.
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. offers American consumers, farmers, and ranchers a vitally important vision of improved health, reduced food insecurity and lower grocery prices, by employing policies that will grow the economy and restore thriving rural farms and their communities. We farmers and ranchers grow nutritious foods in balance with nature and we support a more balanced, informed assessment of food nutrition by a man who has proved himself more qualified for the job than anyone else in our nation.
For these and other important reasons, we, the undersigned, wholeheartedly endorse President Trump’s wise selection of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. to become our nation’s next Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, where he will serve our nation in a pivotal role assisting the USDA to improve food quality while also supporting our farmers, ranchers, and their families.
Sincerely,

I own a family ranch, and Sustainably managed forest wood-lot in southern Colorado. We are in the high desert, and crops are high elevation, dryland grown. We manage cattle to improve the soil and forage grown on it. We manage the woodlot for health, disease, fire resistance, and habitat for migratory elk, and deer. We also manage in a way that provides habitat for resident herds, and flocks of turkeys, bears, and mountain lions. Being close to Natural Cycles has offered us many opportunities to learn consequences of our actions. Human health is connected to soil health through protein and vegetables and fruit, food grown in out soil. There are consequences to humans when we poision “weeds” and insects. We’re all a part of the same cycle of life.
Please confirm RFK Jr. for HHS Secretary,
