Help Protect Medical Privacy In Idaho!

Start the new year off by supporting a good bill to protect the rights of Idaho students beyond the age of 18.

House Bill 597 would amend existing law to allow students of majority age to submit a signed statement for exemption from immunization requirements.

This bill would also prevent colleges and universities in the state of Idaho from infringing on the privacy rights of students by requiring vaccination status or the disclosure of confidential medical information as a condition of enrollment or attendance.

Medical, religious, and philosophical vaccine exemptions already exist for our students up to the age of 18. Let’s work to ensure the rights of our older students as well.

This bill will be heard on Wednesday, Feb 28, 2024, in the House Health and Welfare Committee.

Currently, there is no codified exemption when a student is 18 years old during their 12^th-grade school year.

Students of all ages should have the legal right to vaccine exemptions and medical privacy.

Idaho currently allows for medical, religious, and philosophical vaccine exemptions for students under eighteen years of age but does not legally protect older students. This oversight needs to be rectified and solidified into law.

Vaccines are medical procedures that carry a risk of serious injury. Hundreds of thousands have reported an adverse reaction to vaccination to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). Vaccine manufacturers such as Pfizer, Merck, and GlaxoSmithKline have paid billions of dollars in criminal penalties and settlements for research fraud, faking drug safety studies, failing to report safety problems, bribery, kickbacks, and false advertising.[i] [ii] Pfizer paid $2.3 billion in 2009 alone to resolve criminal and civil allegations.
