Support A Good Bill In Ohio!

Ohio legislators are considering House Bill 8, an essential step in protecting parental rights in public schools.

This bill mandates that all public schools notify parents that they can withhold consent or decline any healthcare service (including vaccination) offered to their children at school.

Additionally, it ensures that parents who consent to healthcare services for their child will have ongoing access to the child’s health records.

HB 8 is part of a broader “parental rights” initiative. While the Weston A. Price Foundation does not take a position on unrelated aspects of the bill, we strongly support its vaccination provisions.

This bill could be strengthened by requiring schools to notify parents that conscientious, religious, and medical exemptions are available for all K-12 public school students whenever vaccine requirements are communicated.

The WAPF opposes all vaccine mandates and supports the right to informed consent.

Please take action to support HB 8 and ensure parental rights are protected in Ohio’s public schools.

No one knows in advance whom a vaccine will harm. Each of us may respond differently as we have different medical histories, genes, epigenetics, and microbiomes.

One of the most basic human rights is that of bodily autonomy, as recognized by the Nuremberg Code. Ethical medicine requires prior, completely voluntary, and fully informed consent.

Vaccines are medical procedures that carry the risk of serious injury. The U.S. Supreme Court recognizes vaccines to be “unavoidably unsafe” and to cause injury and death to some recipients. Vaccines have no long-term studies on their safety, genotoxicity, carcinogenicity, or effect on reproduction.

Vaccine manufacturers such as Pfizer, Merck, and GlaxoSmithKline have paid billions of dollars in criminal penalties and settlements for research fraud, faking drug safety studies, failing to report safety problems, bribery, kickbacks, and false advertising [1,2]. Pfizer paid $2.3 billion in 2009 alone to resolve criminal and civil allegations [3].
