Taste of Slovenia: A Real Food Experience, is a unique food tour like no other— a hands-on introduction to the best of Slovenia’s traditional culinary heritage, as well as the latest culinary achievements in the areas of Slow Food and wine.
TOUR WILL INCLUDE:
Participants will visit Istrian vineyards near the seaside, alpine dairy farms, mountain pastures, cheese artisans, farmers markets, olive groves, biodynamic and alpine apiaries, sea salt pans, a sea bass farm in Piran Bay, charcutiers, restaurants, castles while learnig about traditional methods of production and participating in tastings of traditional products.
The tour price includes all ground transportation,tour guide throughout, lodging in 3 * and 4 * boutique hotels, all breakfasts, most other meals,highlighted by a Slow Food lunch at GostilnaPriLojzetu, with the most famous Slow Food Slovenian chef, TomažKavčič, at Castle Zemono in the Vipava Valley. The first night of the tour features a reception and dinner at the Ljubljana Castle in the very traditional restaurant, GostilnanaGradu (at the castle) http://www.nagradu.si/en/ Ljubljana Castle, which affords a magnificent view over the entire city, can easily be reached with the new funicular railway at Krek Station.
The food tour includestastings, demonstrations, musical events,theLjubljana market tour with JanezBogataj, PhD, a boat tour of Fonda Fish Farm on the Piran Bay, and entrance fees to all events, castles, alpine farms, apiaries, and much more. Slovenians merchants, inn keepers, and food artisans speak English well.
